Timothy R. Pauketat

Tim Pauketat is a Professor of Anthropology and Medieval Studies at the University of Illinois, having previously taught at the University of Oklahoma and State University of New York. His research interests include the relationship of cosmology, materiality, agency, landscapes, religion and political development, which he has studied through the archaeology of North America, especially at Cahokia and along the Mississippi River. He is the author or editor of a dozen books and numerous articles. Currently he is currently working on two field projects, one at an ancient colony in Wisconsin and another at a lunar shrine outside the American Indian city of Cahokia.
