Eszter Bánffy

Eszter Bánffy has been doing research as a prehistorian, working with the Neolithic and Chalcolithic of Central and South East Europe for decades, with a stress on settlement history and ritual find contexts. More recently, she has been focusing to the Central European Neolithic transition, as well as involved in theoretic issues and matters of heritage protection. Besides working in the Archaeological Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, she is a professor supervising PhD students at two universities: Budapest and Szeged. She served on the Board of the European Association of Archaeologists as an executive board member and as secretary (2005-2011).
