Kamal Aldin Niknami

I was born in Miyaneh a small city in northwestern Iran in 1956. After the completion of the elementary and secondary education, I moved to Tehran and obtained my BA in Archaeology at University of Tehran in 1984 and my MA in the same subject at University of Tarbiat Modarres of Tehran in 1990. In 1995, I went to United Kingdom to achieve my PhD using a governmental bursary. I achieved this in the field of Archaeological Methodologies from The University of Sheffield in year 2000. After returning to Iran, I became an academic member of the Archaeological department of University of Tehran. My main focus in teaching and research has been in the issues such as quantification and computation of archaeological data. Through these years I have conducted many field works in various Archaeological sites of Iran which their results have appeared in various local and international journals. Sabbatical leaves through the years 2005 and 2013 have granted me a great opportunity to upgrade my knowledge at the University of Toronto.
