Several Distinctions (European Academy of Sciences, French Academy of Sciences, Arts et Belles Lettres at Dijon, Intern. Archaeometry Award etc). The recent innovative methods concern the dating of ancient monuments (surface luminescence dating) and Obsidian hydration dating by ion beams. Cited in Scopus for more than 250 publcations and books.
